Purpose of Role
The role of the Project Manager is to manage all elements of project works assigned to them in a professional and safe manner. The establishment and administration of working processes, health and safety management and support to the commercial team are all key parts of the role. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager – PEL Business Unit, the role will involve coordinating internal functions and with those of the client and supply chain partners. To deliver Projects, Safely, On Time, On Budget & to the right quality and specification.
Job Description
Support the Senior Project Manager in developing the successful strategy for managing & delivering project/Lifecycle works the Business Unit which includes PFI, Education and Leisure.
Responsibilities
1. Support the Senior Project Manager in the development and maintenance of management documentation and processes including O&M and as built information.
2. Ensure the utmost compliance with all VINCI procedures and processes across works management, health, safety, environmental and fully understand and implement the requirements of the VINCI Quality Policy.
3. SMSTS, CSCS and relevant Security Clearances are a must. Enhanced DBS/NPPV2 Full.
4. Proactively work to further develop and hone health, safety, and environmental processes for the requirements of the Business Unit.
5. Work closely with the wider Business Unit to review solutions to meet business and client needs.
6. Identify and develop opportunities for project works.
7. Work closely with the client to develop project works and identify key drivers and strategic goals.
8. Effectively manage tendering processes and develop quotes/business cases for the required scope of works and subsequently work with the commercial team to prepare said documentation for submission to the client.
9. Plan, manage, monitor, and deliver a variety of projects covering a multitude of disciplines and areas of expertise effectively and to budget.
10. Travel & possible overnight stays, as required, throughout England but predominantly south to deliver projects.
11. Ensure the full and proper management of works and activities in accordance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements across health, safety and environmental.
12. Develop all required management plans required for the delivery of projects, including those required under CDM2015 and VINCI DSP’s and DEP’s.
13. Proactively work to develop innovative and specific works methodologies to deliver works effectively across an array of sites, site conditions and local constraints.
14. Identify the need for and effectively engage with specialist capacity and expertise, where required, for the delivery of works.
15. Actively engage with the client and local stakeholders efficiently and effectively to deliver projects across the Business Unit.
16. Actively manage local authority and governmental processes and requirements, including those pertaining to required approvals such as planning, heritage and temporary works.
17. Demonstrate knowledge of key works elements and operational understanding including, but not limited to; asbestos management, temporary works, COSHH, PUWER, working at height, ground penetration, hot works, confined spaces and industry competency requirements.
18. Undertake all required additional training for the delivery of projects including, but not limited to legionella, CDM2015, COSHH, asbestos awareness and management and temporary works.
19. Be appointed as the Appointed Person for Ground Penetration and Hot Works permitting.
20. Be appointed as a Temporary Works Supervisor.
21. Support operational colleagues in respect of technical expertise and queries and ensure that knowledge is shared effectively throughout the team.
22. Ensure the correct commercial procedures are followed for adherence with client budget requirements and further ensure the Business Unit is not exposed to financial risk.
23. Utilise the VINCI CAFM system to maximum effect on each account for operational delivery, commercial and demonstration of best practice.
24. Effectively utilize the CEMAR and or other system platforms for the management of projects and completion.
25. Identify business risks in the delivery of projects and ensure that risk management, risk registers and contingency are developed and in place to manage and minimize risk.
