Job Title: Chartered Building Surveyor Location: Reigate (with work primarily in Surrey and Kent)

Job Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join our client's growing team based in Reigate, with work across Surrey, Kent, and surrounding areas. This varied and dynamic role offers the chance to support the Surveying team on a broad range of projects, including insurance work for residential buildings in all types of construction. Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct inspections and provide expert advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of all types of buildings and sites.
* Perform acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys, and defect investigations.
* Prepare reports, schedules of work, and works specifications.
* Design and oversee works in accordance with recognised building contracts and current technical standards.
* Manage large-value projects independently, with strong expertise in all aspects of professional consultancy services.
* Understand and apply relevant legislation, such as health and safety, party wall agreements, building regulations, and planning requirements.
* Actively promote the company’s services to secure new projects and enhance the company’s brand.
* Provide supervision and support to APC candidates, fostering their knowledge and professional development.
* Comply with all company administrative processes, personnel procedures, and Health & Safety regulations.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
* MRICS accreditation is essential.
* Extensive experience in consulting engineering, surveying, architectural, and planning practices, with an up-to-date understanding of statutory requirements and technical publications.
* Proven experience in defect diagnosis and report writing.
* Experience in insurance repair projects is preferred.
* Strong skills in negotiation, supervision, and leadership.
* Ability to work within deadlines and budgets on large-scale projects.
* Knowledge of CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall Act, and Building Regulation legislation.
* Excellent mathematical, scientific, and IT skills, with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Flexible, adaptable attitude toward different types of work.
