Stoke Mandeville Hospital Emergency Department are looking for innovative, hardworking and dedicated staff to come and join our strong nursing team. We now have band 6 vacancies available and we are looking for dynamic nurses to help deliver an excellent service to our patients, and to maintain our outstanding care.
Main duties of the job
1. Adopt a clinical management approach, which is supportive, energetic, enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative and support the Team Leaders to create an environment that is challenging, stimulating and supportive to Individuals.
2. Responsible for the day to day management of the department staff in the absence of Department Leader/Team Leader, ensuring appropriate skill mix and staff level are achieved by effective and efficient utilisation of the dept team in order to provide high standard of care throughout a given period of duty.
3. Supervise all grades of staff within the sphere of authority, allocate workload and respond appropriately to deficiencies in staffing levels/changing situations, including close liaison withDepartment Leader and Team leaders.
4. Maximise opportunities to participate fully as a team member by sharing knowledge and information and involving team members in decision-making when appropriate to promote cohesive team working within the department environment.
5. Involve multidisciplinary team members in decision-making on issues that affect the smooth organisation of the department and the delivery of care, often requiring diplomatic andpersuasive skills.
