We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and friendly mainstream primary school in Highbridge. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN), including autism spectrum condition, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and small group support for pupils with additional needs across Early Years, KS1, and KS2.
Work closely with class teachers to adapt lesson materials and learning strategies to suit individual pupil needs.
Help pupils to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation, using positive and supportive approaches.
Liaise with the school SENCO and external professionals to help implement EHCPs and personalised learning plans.
Support pupils during transitions, playtimes, and off-site activities when required.
What We're Looking For:
Experience working with children with SEN in a school or childcare setting (voluntary or paid).
A nurturing, flexible, and patient attitude.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding practices.
*Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.
