Due to the expansion of our team, we are looking for a skilled and dedicated teacher with experience of supporting children with SEND/SEMH needs (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities / Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) to join our vibrant team at our SEND school and Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). We are looking for someone with experience of Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2), who is ready to inspire and engage with our pupils.
Alder Brook is part of the LINK Trust. The LINK Education Trust is an inclusive partnership of mainstream and special schools in Salford, where all pupils enjoy learning. Within our Trust community, we work collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for all. Alder Brook values every individual and strives to develop the whole child. We provide a safe, nurturing environment for pupils with social and emotional needs whilst ensuring academic progress. We provide a creative, exciting, and inclusive curriculum that our children enjoy, building their self-confidence and providing every child with the necessary tools to become successful in the future.
As a SEND / SEMH Teacher at Alder Brook, you will work with a group of children, providing tailored support and interventions to help children overcome barriers to learning, supporting children to thrive in an educational setting. Experience across all Key Stages is desirable but not essential. The ideal candidate will be skilled in supporting behaviours which challenge, creating a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
There's also a possibility of a TLR (Teaching and Learning Responsibility) for those with experience in key development areas. This is a great chance for anyone looking to take on more responsibility while supporting up to 20 pupils and working alongside a fantastic team of support staff across various learning environments.
You will:
* Support every child to reach their potential through adaptive, personalised teaching.
* Hold a moral commitment to learning and achievement through a personalised primary curriculum.
* Have knowledge of SEND developments and experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
* Embrace high expectations of learning and behaviour and be committed to engage pupils with a range of pastoral and academic challenges.
* Be an effective team player with excellent communication skills.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to a fully enhanced DBS check.
