Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Contract Type: Full-time, Term Time Only (39 weeks)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £30,300 - £38,700 per annum (FT 52 weeks equivalent: £35,300 - £45,100), dependent on experience
Job Overview: Client is looking for a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join their trans-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will contribute to planning and delivering strategies that promote student independence and support learning, in line with the Conductive Education ethos of the school. This role involves implementing occupational therapy aims and programs while collaborating closely with other professionals to convey occupational therapy skills and roles within the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work collaboratively within a trans-disciplinary team to support a group of students, meeting their holistic needs.
* Develop and implement individual and group therapy programs, actively participating in planning and preparation.
* Share expertise and knowledge within the team and with external professionals and agencies.
* Contribute to curriculum development and ensure that therapy goals are aligned with educational objectives.
* Monitor and maintain any equipment provided to ensure it is fit for purpose.
* Develop occupational therapy within areas such as:
o Active learning
o Self-care skills
o Access to technology (e.g., switching)
o Seating solutions
o Visuo-perceptual assessments
* Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene, and presentation in the physical environment.
* Provide physical and emotional care with dignity and respect.
* Ensure that the learning environment is adequately resourced to support students’ function and participation.
* Contribute to risk assessments and create plans related to moving and handling, eating, and drinking.
* Write detailed reports on students’ progress and contribute to meetings with parents and external services as necessary.
* Deliver intimate care when required, ensuring respect and autonomy.
* Participate in staff training and development, sharing professional knowledge.
* Comply with all policies and procedures set.
