Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment have partnered with a specialist metal stockholder to assist in their search for a Senior Transport Co-Ordinator on a permanent basis.
As a Transport Administrator/Co-Ordinator, you will be responsible for all transport operations, including documenting goods in/out, all admin and co-ordination of transport operations and all scheduling.
Key duties/responsibilities:
Ensure timely despatch of outbound vehicles and track their journeys
Support the scheduling of transport & delivery routes, identifying and monitoring trends to improve delivery and reduce issues
Ensure the operation remains legally compliant through monitoring weight limits, driver hours and tachographs
Respond swiftly to breakdowns and vehicle defect reports, facilitating a smooth & prompt delivery of materials
Liaising with Operations & Admin departments
Ability to troubleshoot, identify where improvements can be made and offer up suggestions
Skills required:
Enthusiastic, focussed and ambitious with the ability to troubleshoot and make improvements to processes where possible
Experience using an in-house transport management system
Experience in a Transport or Logistics related administrative role
General understanding of transport legislation and logistical operations
Experience in working in a customer focused, time sensitive environment with daily fluctuating workloads
Ability to react quickly to information, solving changes to delivery routes
