Our client based in Basildon, Essex is looking for an experienced UK & EU Road Freight Operations Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate for this role will be hands on when needed but have the experience and ability to look at the bigger picture and use their analytical skills to improve and manage the overall operations. You will be responsible for managing and developing the Basildon Transport team, whilst providing support to other branches with regards to guidance on fleet management and supplier relationships.
Responsibilities for the UK & EU Road Freight Operations Manager includes: -
* Managing the daily road operations (UK & European) for all Basildon clients.
* Coordinating and manage the scheduling and dispatch of the fleet along with developing and mentoring the transport team.
* Responding to any clients in a timely and professional manner.
* Ensuring high standards of customer service are maintained, addressing any issues or complaints promptly and effectively.
* Managing all Road suppliers, looking for quality service levels at a competitive cost.
* Weekly and monthly reporting to the Branch Manager for the road department.
* Implementing cost- effective strategies for fleet utilisation and fuel savings.
* Close coordination and communication with the Warehouse Manager regarding truck arrivals/departures at Basildon using current booking in procedures.
* Leading, motivating and managing a small team of drivers and office staff.
* Managing the transport budget, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
The UK & EU Road Freight Operations Manager will need:-
* Proven experience in UK & EU Road Freight Transport Management – 3-5 years with strong and detailed knowledge of transport regulations and compliance. CPC qualification is preferred.

Our client is offering a salary of £40,000 - £45,000pa along with a great benefits package and on-site car parking.
The working hours are 9.00am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday. (Flexibility is required when workload demands)
