Main duties of the job
Responsible for the assessment of clients both adult and paediatric entering the Emergency Department, prioritisation of treatment, delivery of care and evaluation.
The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision and required to demonstrate procedures and to supervise qualified and/or unqualified staff.
As a Junior Sister / Charge Nurse the post holder will be overall in-charge of the department on a shift basis.

Clinical Skills & Experience
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to effectively prioritise and organise own workload and workload of others
* Effective use of research and implementation of evidence-based practice
* Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
* Experience of delivering presentations
Qualifications
* Registered Children’s Nurse Intravenous accreditation Prep for Mentorship course or equivalent
* Degree (BSc) or equivalent in a health related subject, or working towards
* Specialist paediatric ED or critical care course ILS/ALS/APLS or Equivalent
* Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience; at least 2 years within an Emergency Department
* ATNC / TNCC
* Experience of contributing to research and audit programmes
Governance
* Understanding of clinical governance and risk assessment
* Clear understanding of safeguarding procedures

The ability to converse easily and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for all customer facing roles.
