AMEY are looking for a new Electrician, working on an ongoing temporary basis (potentially leading to a permanent role). You will be based at HMP Cardiff, a category B male prison with a capacity of approximately 800 prisoners.
Your new role
As an Electrician, you will be required to undertake maintenance, repair, fault tests and installation tasks on a range of electrical services throughout HMP Cardiff.
Duties will include:
- Maintenance, installation, monitoring & repair of electrical systems.
- Diagnosing and replacing failed domestic electricalponents in a safe manner.
- Survey inspections for quality control purposes.
- Monitoring and ordering critical spares for all electrical services.
- Responsible for ensuring health & safety- striving to achieve standards throughout the contract.
You will be working Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:00, finishing an hour earlier on Friday.
Premium rate: £ p/h (inclusive of holiday)
What you'll need to succeed
You'll be required to possess an NVQ level 3 and an 18th edition certificate, as well as prior experience. All candidates are subject to full referencing and full EL1 prison clearance.
