What's involved with this role: Interim Project Surveyor - Property Services Job Ref: Stoke on Trent 5256939 Pay Rate: £375.00 per day PAYE Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours Role Length: This opening assignment is for 2-3 months City: STOKE ON TRENT Responsible for overseeing and managing maintenance and construction works to the Corporate Property Portfolio, including planned maintenance, responsive maintenance, refurbishments, adaptations, extensions and alterations. Key Responsibilities: Contribute towards the development and the implementation of the Corporate Asset Management Plan. Provide advice, guidance and input, to the design of refurbishment or new build projects to ensure the most effective maintenance regimes are built into corporate Estate Properties. Manage multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the required standards. Undertake the preparation/production of bills of quantities, schedules of work, schedules of rates, budget estimates, feasibility studies, specification documents, preliminary particulars and preambles for contract documents as required for building works including maintenance and refurbishments Check off submitted valuations, accounts, financial statements and payment accounts and invoices during work in progress and on completion Liaise with contractors, carry out site visits, inspections and measurement of work in progress as necessary. To deal with variations of contract and resolution of contractual claims. Undertake measurements and valuations of completed work (and variations) as necessary, certification of final accounts, financial statements and detailed reports, thereon. Contribute in the preparation and procurement of the Public Buildings Capital Programme as required. Attend Working Parties and Officer Meetings as directed/requested. Qualifications: RICS qualified Building Surveyor with minimum two years’ post qualification experience. Knowledge: Knowledge of building and construction Knowledge of refurbishment works to historic and listed buildings. Good knowledge of the Building Regulations and current Fire Safety legislation. Experience: Experience of delivering high quality residential and office building refurbishment schemes. Experience of actively managing contractors to deliver building refurbishments to the agreed timescales and within budget. A proven track record in leading consultancy teams, contract administration and specification writing with a sound background in building construction.
