Our department The Orthogeriatrics team at Kings Mill Hospital is currently undergoing a period of development and expansion. We are a small team with big ambitions, and are working closely with our Orthopaedic colleagues to improve patient care. Working alongside the Orthogeriatric Consultants, the primary responsibility for the successful candidate will be to provide medical input to frail, elderly patients on the orthopaedic wards, concentrating on those people who have suffered fragility fractures. We would expect this person to take a pro-active and flexible approach, managing both pre- and post-operative patients, to optimise their medical conditions. What we can offer you The post holder will play a key role in the multi-disciplinary team management of frail orthopaedic patients. The individual will provide support and continuity for the orthopaedic doctors. The successful candidate will be expected to be comfortable working independently mostly in the subspecialty, but consultant support will always be available. We are keen to help you develop, and can discuss additional learning opportunities that are available on an individualised basis. Eligibility The post holder must have completed at least 4 years full time/ equivalent regular hospital service, including 2 years within Medicine and at least 12 months in Geriatrics.
