Job Overview
Do you have good verbal and written communication skills, an understanding of the concept of patient confidentiality, and the ability to work as part of a team while accurately following written protocols? Would you like to be part of the team that aims to be the best provider of immunology laboratory services in the North West? If you are suitably qualified with appropriate experience, then consider joining our Trust's Immunology team.
The largest department of its kind in North West England, we’re centrally located, with good public transport links. We’re also well-staffed and proactively developed and supported by continual professional development and academic courses. We were the first immunology lab in the UK to hold UKAS/ISO 15189 accreditation. We are also the first Immunology team to successfully implement a Multiplex (BioPlex) testing system and are at the forefront of electronic requesting and reporting both to GPs and clinicians. The department is constantly evolving and is in the process of implementing a managed service contract for new equipment and pre-analytics.
Main duties of the job
Working in one of the sections of the laboratory on a rotational basis, you will provide support to Biomedical Scientists, offering services to patients and clients alike as an aid to clinical diagnosis. You’ll also be part of an expanding department with many opportunities for personal development. The skills you acquire will be actively nurtured to ensure you’re able to contribute to and support the work of our department as a valued member of staff.
