Job summary Note: Applicants will not commence until after 01/05/2025 An exciting opportunity has risen for a highly motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly Research Pharmacy Team at United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (ULTH). The post holder will be a part of the Pharmacy Department and the Research and Innovation team. Our Pharmacy Department have a good integrated team of Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Support Workers. R&I department is a forward looking department working in partnership with University of Lincoln and Regional Research Delivery Network to support the delivery of clinical research. The successful candidate will support clinical trials service with existing and upcoming new studies, in a variety of clinical specialties and play an important role in improving the health for patients. You will need to apply your pharmacy knowledge, analytical eye and practical experience to deliver safe investigational treatments to our patients. You must be keen to learn, able to interpret complex information, and communicate effectively. We would expect this role to develop you and for you to use the experience to develop others. Significant experience in hospital pharmacy or clinical trials would be expected. Full training and support will be provided. The post will be based at Lincoln County Hospital but the successful candidate will need to travel to other sites within the Trust. Main duties of the job You will be involved in the set-up of new trial projects, whilst also supporting the delivery of existing trials. You will therefore be required to demonstrate good organisational skills, be able to work independently and as part of the wider team. You will need to collaborate effectively with a wide range of Trust staff - local investigators, researchers, nursing, administrative and pharmacy staff. You will also represent the team, the department and the Trust when engaging with pharmaceutical companies and their partner organisations, so a professional nature is required. Experience of writing standard operating procedures would be advantageous. Attention to detail and a meticulous nature are prime requisite, for future therapies are determined by the accuracy of the data we collect today.
