Fortus Recruitment are currently representing a local authority who are looking for a Head of Repairs to join their property services division.
Working as part of a team to provide a customer-focused 24/7, 365 days per week responsive maintenance provision, the primary purpose of this role is to lead, manage, challenge, and support managers to deliver efficient and effective services.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Lead the Residential Services operational Teams to achieve continuous improvement in the delivery of services and value for money.
2. Lead and manage a team of supervisors and their associated employee groups in the delivery, inspection, scheduling, ordering, and post-inspection of planned works to tenanted, empty homes, and other projects as required.
3. Ensure efficient and effective responses are provided to all inquiries regarding planned programmes.
4. Assist and deputise for the Head of Services as required.
5. Proactively manage the availability of the team, directly and through line management, including annual leave, sickness, training, and any other reason.
6. Manage and monitor the cost and use of materials.
7. Manage and monitor subcontractors when engaged in carrying out work on the company's behalf.
8. Work as one team to utilise the team efficiently and effectively.
9. Liaise, communicate, and work with other stakeholders, including but not limited to client representatives, suppliers, contractors, colleagues, residents, and others as required.
10. Understand, take responsibility for, and report performance, both financial and operational, internally and externally as required.
11. Able to drive and hold a full driving licence.
12. Ensure you remain up to date with all relevant compliance and mandatory training that will enable you to fulfil the requirements of your role.

Experience & Qualifications:
1. Relevant experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across multiple workstreams.
2. Relevant experience in social housing repairs or a similar industry sector.
3. Good level of numeracy, literacy, written, oral, and communication skills.
4. Strong IT skills.
5. HND / Degree or equivalent qualifications or experience in a construction-related subject.
6. Ability to create and develop relationships with various stakeholders.
7. Demonstrable commercial acumen and experience of managing budgets in the range of £10-15m.
8. Operational insight and be able to evidence innovation.
9. Understanding of Health & Safety Regulations.
10. Working knowledge of Asbestos policy & procedures.
11. Application of Risk Assessments / Method Statements.
