About the role
This role is an all-encompassing role that requires high levels of customer interaction. The overall purpose of the role is to build solid relationships with our customer base, proactively upsell additional products, support sales within the team and wider company, process orders, organise and arrange deliveries, offer thought provoking solutions to queries and above all maintain high levels of satisfaction relating to customer service. The job will be hybrid base 50% remote and 50% in our new Gravesend office.
* Type of Contract: Part time - Monday, Thursday & Friday
* Type of Position: Member of the Internal Sales Team
What will you do
* Inputting customer orders which may be multiple ones so there is a high degree of organisation and attention to detail required in the role.
* Oversee Orders through the full cycle from Production through to Delivery, whilst liaising with the customer and relevant internal Departments at regular intervals – always offering the highest level of customer service.
* Upselling additional products from within the group portfolio which aids with maximising transport efficiency, whilst increasing our sales output.
* Provide leads to other divisions within the company, identifying opportunities.
* Informing customers of lead times, updating them effectively in the case of any issues or delays, and organising delivery schedules.
* Complaint handling with urgency and care.
* Gathering and reporting feedback from customers on a regular basis, following up on deliveries and understanding customer needs.
Skills
* We are interested in individuals who have worked in customer service and/or internal sales.
* Construction background would be beneficial but is certainly not a necessity.
* Experience of using Microsoft Outlook and Excel would be beneficial.
* Excellent communication skills are desired.
* Ability to build a good rapport both internally and externally.
Your profile
* The individual must have the right of residence and to work in the UK.
* They should be located within a reasonable commuting distance to the Gravesend Site in Kent.
* Outgoing and with a good clear telephone speaking voice, and who can remain upbeat and motivated throughout the duration of a typically busy working day.
* Experience of “upselling” is beneficial, plus good account development and account management skills.
* The ability to quickly build rapport with our customer base, and maintain it over the long term.
* Personal flexibility and commitment “to get the job done.” Good planning and time management skills.
* The ability to prioritise workloads, manage expectations, and to be decisive and calm under pressure.
* To have experience of building relationships with people at all levels, both internal and external to the Company.
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
* The individual must be able to self-motivate. The role will be home-based, with daily interactions internally amongst other team members.
