Job Responsibilities
This role will be based initially at Burwash in East Sussex. You will then be required to support at our other locations from time to time within the region: Uckfield, Shoreham on Sea, Henfield, and Wadhurst. Mileage will be paid from your base home.
As a Peripatetic Deputy General Manager (Clinical) at Barchester, you'll manage and develop the teams in various care homes, working closely with the General Manager or hiring manager to implement action plans that ensure residents' needs are met. You will take on leadership duties in the absence of the General Manager, helping with care standards, motivating your team, and monitoring standards through regular audits, supervised clinical practice, and checking regulatory compliance. You'll set the highest standards and develop strategies to achieve your goals.
About You
To join us as a Peripatetic Deputy General Manager (Clinical), you'll need to be a Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with current NMC registration and a teaching, mentoring, or supervision qualification. Previous experience working within a nursing home setting is essential, and evidence of continual professional development is also required. Experience in helping residents with different health needs is important, as is a successful track record of managing safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments. We also look for some HR experience, a strong knowledge of sales and marketing, an understanding of budget management, and a track record of supporting newly qualified nurses through preceptorship. You must be compassionate, resilient, and determined to deliver quality care in our engaging and energetic environment. Finally, due to the nature of this role, you must be flexible and willing to travel.
