HOUSE MANAGER – You are required to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks, some flexibility is given but your start times will fall in line with that of the care teams
Starting salary - £29,400 per annum

About us
Pegasus School is a small independent special school. Currently we have 14 residential students aged between 8 to 19 years with moderate to severe learning disabilities, autism and associated challenging behaviour. Many of our students also have mental health and therapy needs.
Located within easy reach of Swadlincote, Derbyshire and a short distance from Burton on Trent.
Children and young adults placed at the school have a range and complexity of needs including:
• Autism
• Moderate to severe learning difficulties
• Speech, language and communication difficulties
• Challenging behaviour
The Role
• To provide leadership & management to a team of residential staff in order to achieve a service that provides the young people with outstanding care.
• To be a positive leader of the home and work with in the schools’ values and ethos.
• To safeguard children and young people in line with the schools safeguarding policy and procedures.
• Provide continual development & self-assessment, detailing the progress made against the Home’s Development Plan.
• Undertake senior-on-duty, senior-on-call as and when required.
• Work in a flexible way so that you have an overview of the whole week and the team of staff you are responsible for.
• Manage the performance of all staff to ensure high quality of support and care. This will be achieved through quality supervision, constructive management performance reviews and observation of practice.
Do you have?
• Level 3/4 Residential Childcare or equivalent
• Previous supervisory or first line management experience.
• Excellent -Interpersonal/ Communication Skills
• Good report writing skills
• Organisational skills
• Good time management
• The ability to work under pressure
Are you?

• Knowledgeable about the role and the sector and understand its rewards and challenges including experience working with complex needs and behaviours that challenge
• A driving licence holder
• Able to use your initiative
