Work closely with the relevant Business Directors to fully understand short-, medium- and long-term Business strategy and the evolution thereof. Develop Land delivery strategy working collaboratively with Head of Land Delivery and Head of Estate Management ensuring complete understanding and alignment of Business needs and department delivery. Ensuring clear understanding and benchmarking of relevant land/property markets to allow fit for purpose land rights strategies to be developed. Negotiate and advise on critical, multi-million-pound contracts to deliver the necessary support to meet delivery needs of department. What you’ll be doing Lead a team responsible for ensuring robust and proactive stakeholder engagement extending but not limited to large Government agencies and individual land owners Ensuring Business is aware and understanding of current market financial position and trends with robust and clear benchmarking being undertaken through effective engagement with external parties. Working with Investment Office Director to support financial modelling for new and existing projects to ensure accurate modelling and decision making at outset and through evolution of project. Negotiate, manage, and mitigate Business rates obligations across Business currently extending to over £20m per annum. Work closely with Business Development Director to ensure thorough due diligence undertaken on acquisition opportunities. Through excellent relationships and contacts will bring forward marketed and off-market opportunities for acquisition and divestment consideration Clear understanding of Business vision to develop and own the land strategy for ensuring land rights delivery, protection, and financial mitigation. Mitigate financial and operational risk ensuring full compliance with all statutory requirements and ensuring any land rights being secured, extended, or re-negotiated are commensurate with market levels. Developing and delivering land strategies which will help deliver Business objectives, meeting and adding to Business Operating plans. Work collaboratively across SPR Management team to deliver best value from any contracting and tendering with appropriate consideration given to opportunities to maximise support from 3rd party supply chain to enhance delivery and reduce costs. Engagement with wider Scottish Power stakeholders to advise, guide and ensure value added approach to land management and delivery on existing technologies and new propositions which rely on effective land rights. Benchmark Business Real Estate delivery to ensure an exemplar portfolio Management and land rights delivery. Represent L&E at SPRIC making recommendation and influencing decisions. What you’ll bring Open, inclusive, and approachable style of management leading collaboration across team, stakeholders and GSUK Detailed understanding of Energy market with particular focus on relevant Business area for the short-, medium- and long-term targets, Ability to promote professional standards as well as being a key role model holding a high-profile position across an SP Business Experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including Senior colleagues, Solicitors & External industry peers. Ability to work autonomously on high profile, time of the essence projects recognising the need for support and sensitivity where required. Proactive approach to Real Estate strategy with an ability to recognise opportunities for efficiencies and new approaches. Have an ability to keep abreast of wider market factors that will influence land delivery strategy including growing and developing a network of key contacts to aid such. Strong leadership credentials managing a team of Chartered Surveyors with responsibility to develop and execute a Real Estate strategy. Strong ability to mentor, coach and develop a team of Chartered Surveyors ensuring the correct allocation of resource to meet an ever-changing workload and demand.
