About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated HSEQ Advisor to oversee and support Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) management on a major infrastructure project in Suffolk. This role will involve ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practices related to cable laying, trunking, and substation build.
The successful candidate will work closely with site teams, subcontractors, and senior management to promote a strong safety culture, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement in HSEQ performance.
Key Responsibilities
H&S Compliance: Ensure all project activities comply with UK Health & Safety legislation, including CDM 2015, and company HSEQ policies.
Site Inspections & Audits: Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure safe working practices.
Incident Investigation: Lead and support investigations into incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
Training & Engagement: Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and HSEQ training to operatives and subcontractors.
Environmental & Quality Standards: Monitor environmental performance, ensuring compliance with permits, waste management regulations, and sustainability initiatives.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records, update HSEQ documentation, and produce regular reports for project and senior management.
Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to align safety and quality expectations.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance safety performance and promote best practices across the project.
Key Requirements :
Qualifications:
NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (essential).
IOSH Membership (desirable).
Environmental Qualification (IEMA or equivalent) is a plus.
Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) or similar qualification (desirable).
Experience:
Previous experience in an HSEQ role within the construction, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
Strong knowledge of HSEQ management in electrical infrastructure, cable laying, trunking, or substation build projects.
Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects and understanding CDM 2015 regulations.
Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
