A primary school based in Birkenhead are currently looking for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible to support the teacher within their year 2 class, starting September 2024 on an ongoing basis.
This is a full-time role, working five days a week and is a fantastic opportunity to work within a lovely school.
Responsibilities of the role include:
1. Assisting the class teacher with any duties when required
2. Report feedback to the class teacher
3. Support students when needed within the classroom
4. Being encouraging and enthusiastic
5. Assisting with any other ad hoc duties when required

Teaching or classroom assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

6. NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant

We’ll also consider experienced learning support assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
20. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
21. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
22. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
23. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
24. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills
