Badminton England is currently looking for Safeguarding Coordinator (mat leave cover), to join our team and provide administrative support, this post will have a central role in ensuring the highest standards of customer service and compliance with processes are maintained to support the delivery of the Badminton England Safeguarding Strategy.
Responsibilities:
Provide a central point of contact for all safeguarding enquiries.
Manage the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) administration process for all volunteers and coaches.
Liaise with DBS system provider to resolve any queries.
Support the Safeguarding Case Officer with fact-finding /investigative enquiries for reported concerns and DBS disclosures.
Ensure that all information is recorded accurately on the Badminton England Case Management system and held according to data protection legislation and the duty of confidentiality.
Provide secretariat support to the Badminton England Safeguarding Case Management Group.
Attendance at the Badminton England Safeguarding Case Management Group to present information as required and contribute to group discussion.
Provide secretariat support for Badminton England Safeguarding Disciplinary Hearings.
Provide administrative support for education and training delivery.
Escalate unresolved problems and adjust tasks as appropriate or directed by the Safeguarding Manager to meet changing demands.
Provide administrative support with additional tasks to the wider organisation as required from time to time.
Skills and Experience:
Knowledge and understanding of current legislation, guidance and best practice in safeguarding.
Experience in supporting safeguarding investigations.
Experience of working with safeguarding partners.
Skills in interviewing witnesses to incidents and those subject to allegations.
The ability to make proportionate, reasoned, and justifiable decisions.
An understanding of the links between safeguarding and equality, diversity and inclusion.
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
Calm temperament and experience of working under pressure, meeting deadlines and prioritising workload.
Able to deal with sensitive and confidential matters in a professional manner.
Values orientation with alignment to Badminton England organisational values.
Key information:
This is a full-time fixed-term (Maternity Cover) role based on 35.58 hours per week. Badminton England has flexible working, with an already established hybrid environment (3 days in the office at National Badminton Centre, Milton Keynes) with our core day being Thursday
Salary: Up to £25,000 depending on experience
