The Opportunity
Given rapid project expansion, our client is currently seeking a Black Hat Piping Supervisor, where you will be a non-working supervisor, responsible for leading a dynamic team of mechanical tradesmen, ensuring that they complete assigned tasks in a safe, effective and timely manner.
Basic Monday-Friday: £32.26 p/hr
Midweek after 8 & Saturday am: £48.39 p/hr
Saturday pm & Sunday: £64.52 p/hr
Plus, bonus
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
1. Ensure safe and responsible working and full compliance to Company and Site safety procedures.
2. Ensure all work is carried out in a productive and cost effective manner.
3. Support site-benchmarking initiatives.
4. Ensure site/plant priorities are addressed in a timely manner and support company/site initiatives.
5. Maintain the highest standards of health and safety, environmental performance and industrial relations.
6. Ensure acceptable level of performance from Supervision under your control.
7. Ensure good 360° communications with trade teams.
8. Uphold the Companies purpose and BIS UK Golden Rules.
9. Coaching and mentoring workforce, understanding.
10. Man hour targets and having clear roles and accountabilities.
11. Ensure supervision are aware of required safety standards.
12. Ensure a process of measuring and reducing rework.
13. Where scopes of work change ensure these changes are captured and processed.
14. Ensure time/allocation bookings are correct.
15. Maintain links between all sub-contractors.
16. Forward thinking regarding resources to allow for execution of work packages.
17. Ensure frequent and clear communications are maintained with sub-contractors and the client.
18. Support Project Manager/Engineer initiatives.
19. Provide clear and concise updates to area engineers.
20. Have a minimum 5 hours of contact time on site during normal working day.
21. Ensure supervisor contact time with blue collar is at maximum.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
1. Level 3 Apprenticeship in Engineering Construction - Pipefitter Standard (ST0162)
2. Diploma in Installing Engineering Construction Plant and Systems – Pipefitting
3. ECITB Diploma in Installing Engineering Construction Plant and Systems - Pipefitting SCQF Level 6
4. ECITB Skills Test Alternative / Skills Test Number: TPF05
5. ACE Card.
6. Enrolment onto ILM Level 3 Certificate C&BE plus completion of Nuclear Unit or Nuclear Engineering Construction Supervisor (NECS).
7. LATS or SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safety.
8. CCNSG.
