Company Overview
You will be joining a very well-known and highly regarded Renewable Energy business as their Skills and Capability Manager on a full-time, permanent basis, working in their Chief People Officers team. Managing one direct report and reporting directly into the Head of Department, you will be part of a close-knit, high-performing and hugely supportive team environment. You will also oversee an offshore team of 4 who are based overseas. Based primarily remotely, you will occasionally be required to travel to their very modern City of London office for meetings and team strategy days.
Role Responsibilities
In your new role, you will be responsible for managing the Operational training delivery team, identifying improved ways of working, monitoring and budgetary accountability, establishing a roadmap and support on workforce planning to secure the necessary pipeline of talent to deliver the business' growth ambitions, identifying critical skills areas of focus for the business, delivering strategies to reduce organisational skills gap risks, managing the business' approach to skills promotion in community areas, leading the annual reporting and implementation of key recommendations of skills outcomes/performance and anticipating future market requirements. You will work closely alongside the Talent Acquisition function to assess current and future skills requirements of the business. You will play a key role in reviewing internal progression opportunities for existing employees, assessing career pathways, analysing employee experience and supporting with the production of learning and development programmes for employees across the business.
Role Requirements
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to be a highly skilled Skills & Capability professional with a strong skills background, either from a national, regional or industry standpoint. You will be passionate about building credibility and fostering effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels with strong communication skills and you will possess the ability to tailor complex information to diverse audiences. You will be a strategic thinker with a proven ability to manage client relationships, provide insightful and expert advice, as well as deliver impactful business insights. You will have experience in project management and leading system changes in matrixed organisations and you will have experience managing a team of at least one. You will be a pragmatic, proactive and self-motivated individual who is used to working in fast-paced, continuously changing and challenging work environment. You will need to be able to work well under pressure and be an honest, transparent and personable individual with meticulous attention to detail. Ideally you will be coming from a Renewable Energy or Energy background and possess a clear, demonstrable passion for the industry.
In Return
You will receive an annual salary of up to £75,000 (depending on experience) + annual bonus + market-leading pension scheme + a number of other fantastic benefits and this package will be regularly reviewed to remain in line with market rate. You will be based primarily remotely and when you are based in the office on an ad-hoc basis, you will be located in a brilliant area of London, close to multiple transport links and top attractions.
