Job overview
Due to an internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join our friendly and dynamic Speech and Language Therapy Team at Royal Oldham Hospital.
Working within an existing team that covers general medical, surgical, paediatric, neonatal intensive care, and adult critical care wards, as well as offering video fluoroscopy and FEES, there are plenty of opportunities for development and clinical supervision. The post includes a rotational element with the Critical Care SLT team.
Main duties of the job
To provide assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders to patients referred from the adult general medical and surgical wards at Royal Oldham Hospital.
We are a team of approximately 8.0wte SaLTs / SaLTAs with a breadth of experience in general medical / surgical, Critical Care, Neonatal, and Paediatric Speech & Language Therapy. * HCPC Registration – Licence to Practice
* Registered member of RCSLT
Essential Qualifications
* Recognised Speech & Language Therapy Degree
* Evidence of successful completion of dysphagia competencies
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* At least 1 year post qualification experience working with adults with swallowing disorders
* Experience of working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* Skills in the interpretation of videofluoroscopy assessment
* Experience of training SLTs and others
