We are looking to expand our team and have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Programmer, Setter, and Operator (Turning). Role: CNC Programmer, Setter, Operator (Turning) Location: Molesey, Surrey Salary: Starting at £17.50 per hour (negotiable based on experience) Hours: 40 hours per week overtime Holiday: 26 days bank holidays Key Responsibilities: CNC Machine Operation: Efficiently run CNC turning machines, including programming, tool selection, and repeat setting of jobs. Quality Control: Inspect workpieces throughout production, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to ‘right-first time’ principles. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot machining and tooling challenges, utilising your expertise to resolve issues promptly and effectively. Maintenance: Identify and address machine maintenance needs, performing daily, weekly, and monthly checks to ensure optimum performance. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives, adhering to health and safety protocols, 5S practices, and safe working procedures. Collaboration: Work closely with the Production Manager, reporting on production progress and any challenges encountered. Required Skills & Experience: Proven experience in programming, setting, and operating CNC turning centres. Ability to meet production targets while maintaining a high standard of quality and precision. Strong knowledge of machining strategies and tooling solutions, with particular expertise in machining stainless steel and aluminium. Experience with CNC turning centres. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerances. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills. Ideal Candidates will have: Experience using a Twin turret twin spindle, 8 Axis mill-turn centres with Fanuc controls. Experience using a Twin turret, twin spindle, 8 Axis mill-turn sliding head lathes with Fanuc controls. Experience using a Single turret twin spindle, 5 Axis mill-turn centres with Siemens controls. Experience in programming from first principles and using 3D models (One CNC preferred). Familiarity with recognised Quality Systems. Apprenticeship or formal training in machining or engineering disciplines. Personal Attributes: Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when handling small, high-value parts. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. High level of initiative and motivation, focusing on efficiently producing quality components. Proactive team player with excellent communication skills across all levels.
