Main duties of the job
1. Clinically lead the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of best nutrition and dietetic practice in Critical Care.
2. Lead on the development and delivery of education and training in relation to acute nutrition support in Critical Care.
3. Lead the development and implementation of nutrition and dietetic related guidance and standards, resources, training and education in relation to critical care, ensuring effective integration across programmes of work in relation to wider acute nutrition support.
4. Manage a caseload of highly complex individuals requiring complex nutrition support (level 3 critical care unit), ensuring effective step down, supporting excellent standards of nutritional care.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
* HCPC registration with a Degree in Dietetics.
* Expert clinical knowledge of nutritional care and dietetics in critical care, qualifications acquired through specialist training or equivalent clinical experience to a Masters level or equivalent.
* Completed the BDA PENG programme, or equivalent.
* Knowledge of, and ability to apply evidence-based methodology to support improvement, and service delivery.
* Expert knowledge of clinical guidance and policy relevant to the specialist area.
* Master's qualification - Advanced Clinical Practice.
Experience
* Extensive clinical dietetic delivery in acute dietetics, including critical care.
* Significant experience of managing a highly complex and unpredictable clinical caseload using advanced clinical reasoning.
* Clinical leadership.
* Extensive multi-professional working.
* Planning and delivering specialist clinical knowledge-based education and training.
* Delivering clinical supervision.
* Delegation to non-registered team members.
* Leading project / quality improvement / development work, with demonstrable outcomes.
* Student training.
* Research / clinical audit.
