Are you a passionate and skilled chef looking for a rewarding opportunity in a dynamic school catering environment? Buckswood School is seeking an experienced Morning Chef to join our catering team, ensuring excellent service and high-quality food for our students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Catering Manager in the smooth operation of the kitchen.
* Manage kitchen administration, HACCP documentation, and compliance with food safety regulations.
* Prepare meals to specification, ensuring budget compliance and minimal waste.
* Provide a chef presence during meal service to enhance the dining experience.
* Conduct regular fridge and storage checks to maintain hygiene and compliance with SFBB and EHO guidelines.
* Ensure a clean and hygienic kitchen in accordance with COSHH regulations and the Food Safety Act.
* Order provisions efficiently, manage stock checks, and maintain equipment inventories.
* Assist in implementing all school policies and procedures, particularly regarding Health & Safety and Safeguarding.
* Report accidents and near accidents in line with school policies.
* Ensure the maintenance of all kitchen and school equipment .
What We’re Looking For:
* Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Cooking and Food Preparation or 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
* Level 2 Food Safety Certificate .
* Strong knowledge of allergens and food safety regulations (SFBB & HACCP procedures).
* Experience in stock control and ordering is desirable.
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to make quick decisions.
* Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure .
* Good communication skills and ability to interact at all levels.
* Experience in a similar catering environment is desirable.

* The role may involve working across multiple school sites .

* Week 1: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
* Week 2: Wednesday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, plus full-day shifts on Saturday and Sunday
