Are you a dedicated and experienced Social Worker passionate about safeguarding children and supporting families? Sutton Council is seeking committed professionals to join our Child Protection Team, helping to ensure the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children across the county.
About the Role:
As a Social Worker in our Child Protection Team, you will play a key role in assessing risks, developing protection plans, and working with multi-agency partners to support children at risk of harm. You will provide essential interventions that promote the best outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Undertake comprehensive child protection assessments in line with the Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation.
2. Develop and implement child protection plans, ensuring timely and effective intervention.
3. Work collaboratively with families, partner agencies, and colleagues to achieve positive outcomes for children.
4. Provide written reports and attend child protection conferences, court proceedings, and multi-agency meetings.
5. Ensure the voice of the child is central to all decision-making and interventions.
6. Maintain accurate case records and comply with statutory safeguarding responsibilities.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Qualified Social Worker (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent) and registered with Social Work England.
2. Experience in child protection, safeguarding, and risk assessment.
3. Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance, and other key legislation.
4. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
5. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
