As the UK Pensions Director, you will be responsible for the governance and delivery of UK Pensions, with a focus on Administration and Member Communications, both at an operational and strategic level, working with the Company and the pension plan Trustees to set and influence the direction of the UK pension plans, considering factors such as risk, funding and legislative change.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the delivery of UK Pension schemes, ensuring high quality delivery from HQ, GCC (People Services) and service providers to meet the needs of members and deliver the strategy and priorities agreed with the Trustee Board and Company.
* Serve as Secretary to the Trustee Board.
* Set and agree agendas to ensure appropriate discussion and decision making.
* Draft, review and agree all responses to Internal Dispute Resolution Procedures (IDRP) or Trustee complaint cases as appropriate, managing reputational risks arising from conflicts with members.
* Provide and monitor Trustee training in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
* The compliant appointment / removal of Company, Independent and Member nominated Trustees, maintaining a five-year Board succession plan.
* Draft and maintain business plans of Trustee Board and Committees regarding regular activities and periodic requirements to ensure plan governance significantly meets market best practice and GSK plan requirements.
* Fulfilling Trustee responsibilities in keeping compliant and thorough documentation for the pension plans.
* Be the day-to-day contact for the Trustee Chair and all Trustee Directors, with regular weekly meetings as required.
* Serve on the Internal Risk Group, responsible for all Pension Benefits controls.

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
* Qualified as pensions actuary or pensions lawyer
* Demonstrated UK pensions consulting experience, preferably including experience in-house for large pension schemes
* Strong working knowledge of UK Pensions regulations and HMRC requirements and ability to apply these in the context of role with broader HR policies and objectives.
* Strong track record of leading and managing a pensions function at an operational and strategic level
* Strong vendor management skills with the ability to understand contracts, setting of service level agreements and challenging non-compliance. Negotiation and active management of costs incurred by providers will also be required.
* Experience of managing projects including preparing project plans and timelines
* Ability to interpret data to demonstrate a return on investment.
* Ability to analyse complex benefit information and draw recommendations/make decisions.
* Flexibility to manage multiple plans and ability to manage multiple and often conflicting priorities.
