About the role (External)
Role: Sourcing Specialist
Vacancy Type: Full-time but flexible working patterns will be considered.
Duration: 12 month fixed term contract covering maternity leave with the potential to be extended.
Salary: Band 4B (35,582 - 40,830)
Location: The Quadrant: MK
This is an opportunity for someone that may not be experienced in technology procurement, to work in a new category and apply their skills and experiences, in the pursuit of making a difference for rail passengers.
This role is in our Technology Sourcing team which sits within the Route Services Commercial and Procurement function and manages the sourcing of services and goods for; Information Technology, Telecoms and Research & Development. You will be working to source commercial solutions across a range of Technology categories, ensuring value for money is achieved through applying your commercial expertise and interpersonal skills. You will also be required to work in accordance with public sector procurement regulations. This role provides opportunities for a varied workload and would suit an individual seeking new challenges.
This role requires working in the office 2/3 days a week.

* A desire to learn and a commitment to proactive personal development.
* Experience in developing and implementing sourcing strategies using a structured sourcing process, aligned to business needs and objectives.
* Strong interpersonal skills to support stakeholder management and cross-functional working.
* Aptitude for commercial problem solving in the context of a large and complex organisation.
* Manage the sourcing activities for medium cost and business risk opportunities and work collaboratively with relevant customers and stakeholders to create and deliver commercial and contractual value.

Essential
* Educated to a Business or Economics degree standard or equivalent business experience.
* Demonstrable level of Sourcing experience, with a track record of savings delivery.
* Experience with negotiation and dispute resolution skill set.
* Experience with contract law and financial management.
* Experience with driving value from sourcing opportunities.
* Experienced with agile cross-functional collaborative working methods.
* Politically aware, with the proven ability to use direct and indirect influencing strategies.
* Experience of problem-solving complex sourcing specific challenges.
* Completer finisher mindset.
Desirable
* Knowledge of the UK Rail Industry, including procurement processes in a regulated environment.
