Full time/part-time permanent position, however bank hours also considered particularly for night shifts. Enhancements paid for shifts worked overnight, weekends & on Bank Holidays.
Main Duties of the Job
1. To work within the Team Nursing structure, ensuring that holistic quality care for people under our care is maintained.
2. Provide appropriate physical, emotional and spiritual care in agreement with the people under our care and those that love them.
3. Consult and liaise with both the nursing and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of holistic care.
4. Use evidence-based practice when planning care.
5. Communicate effectively and appropriately with people under our care & those that love them. Liaise with other professionals involved in their care.
6. Recognise and report changes in the condition of people under our care and respond appropriately to maintain effective symptom control. Implement nursing procedures correctly.
7. Maintain clinical records and associated documentation written and electronic in accordance with SFH policies.
8. Accurately document care given within NMC guidelines.
9. Participate in the annual hospice UK and clinical audit programmes to evaluate areas of clinical practice as requested.
10. Have an identified area of special interest of clinical practice.
11. Communicate effectively with people under our care, those that love them and other visitors. Participate in discussion, ensure effective communication with the clinical team when planning and evaluating care needs. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure high-quality holistic care. Effectively use IT systems to ensure records are kept updated.

We achieved Outstanding in our CQC inspection & have reconfigured our services to meet the changing needs of our local community. We support 5 Clinical Commissioning Groups & have a robust governance structure in place. We provide inpatient clinical services within a modern, personal & friendly 18-bedded ward, as well as Specialist Community Crisis Support Service, Hospice at Home Service & Specialist Day Therapy Service. We also have the hospice Pepperell Education Centre that has an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality education programmes and study days.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse Level 1.
* ENB 998 or equivalent.
* ENB 931 or equivalent.
* ENB 285 or Diploma in Palliative Care.
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge
* Team player, committed to multidisciplinary working.
* An understanding of the importance of multi-professional team working.
* Experience of working autonomously as well as part of a multi-professional team.
* Flexible approach to team working and an awareness of team dynamics.
* Has the ability to organise the team in the absence of the Team Leader.
* Has the ability to organise the Ward in the absence of a Senior Nurse.
