Social, Emotional, & Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant, Stoke-on-Trent
Are you experienced in supporting adolescents with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs?
Academics is seeking experienced SEMH Teaching Assistants for day-to-day, short-term, and long-term roles within our partner Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools in Stoke-on-Trent.
Your responsibilities will include supporting students with challenging behaviour, helping them manage their behaviour, engaging with classroom tasks, and reaching their potential. You should be proactive, resilient, and committed to helping pupils achieve and progress. You will work on learning activities, promote confidence, and encourage independence among students.
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Have substantial experience working with adolescents with SEMH, autism, ADHD, or other disabilities.
* Possess excellent communication skills to hold student attention and focus.
* Have extensive experience working with learners exhibiting challenging behaviour.
* Promote happiness, self-reliance, and positive interactions.
