Job summary The General Porter plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the hospital or site by transporting equipment, supplies, mail, and patients, as well as assisting with various logistical tasks. Main duties of the job Patient transportation - Taking responsibility under the direction of the nursing team for the safe movement and transfer of the patient, their belongings, drugs, and medical records along with the patient Following QEF Policy, collect and distribute medical devices from the hospitals loan library service The collection and delivery service for internal and external mail, parcels, supplies, pharmacy items. Furniture collection and removal. The storage, distribution and collection of medical devices The collection of dirty and the distribution of clean linen The collection and safe storage of site waste To provide a collection and delivery service for internal and external mail, parcels, supplies, pharmacy items etc. Movement of items of furniture under the direction of charge hand supervisor Respond as directed to assist in emergency procedures including urgent bloods, specimens etc and major incident and fire. Distribution and storage of medical gasses Collection and transportation of food regeneration trolleys and other food items from catering department to user areas, subsequent removal and return to the main kitchen.
