Who You Are We are looking for a confident, independent, and effective Deputy Manager with proven senior experience in residential childcare. You should possess a relevant qualification for Social Care Wales registration and a Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People). You must have excellent communication and organization skills, comprehensive knowledge of social care legislation, budget management, child development, and the ability to undertake assessments. Experience with a behaviour support model of care, managing staff, and safeguarding young people is essential. As a problem solver and decision maker, you will have the ability and knowledge to safeguard and promote young people's interests. What the job involves As a Deputy Manager in our new Children's Home in Cardiff, your role involves assisting in managing and administering the home to meet regulatory standards and provide excellent care to vulnerable children and young people. You will ensure a sensitive service that addresses their diverse needs and empowers them to voice decisions about their lives while encouraging independence. Key responsibilities include building positive relationships with families, facilitating community integration, ensuring staff competence, managing budgets, and coordinating meetings to promote inclusion and achieve objectives. This role aims to understand young people's needs deeply, providing up to 12 weeks of care and securing appropriate placements thereafter.
