An exciting Band 7 Part-time (22.5 hrs) / Fixed-Term post (Approx 2.5 yrs TBC) is available within our dynamic and friendly acute Neurosciences team; this role has a Critical Care focus.
This is a chance to work within a highly specialist team in Queen’s Hospital Regional Neurosciences Centre. You will have opportunity to use advanced clinical skills across a wide range of elective and acute conditions, including; spinal trauma, spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, neuro-oncology and acute neurology.
The post-holder will be delivering clinical care, providing team supervision, and developing the service across critical care and ward settings on our Queen’s Hospital site; you will be working alongside highly specialist therapy colleagues within an integrated team.

There will be consideration of a Band 6 -to -7 Development post for applicants displaying the appropriate levels of skills and knowledge.
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist assessment, treatment, and advice to patients within your area of speciality, facilitating and maximising patient potential within the service boundaries. This will involve working with various neuroscience pathologies such as: spinal surgery, spinal cord injury, spinal trauma, traumatic and acquired brain injury, neuro-oncology and acute neurology conditions. The post holder will be expected to be able provide their specialist skills within both the neuro-intensive care and ward environments as per work demands and to work across both emergency and elective care pathways (and across sites if required).
• This fixed-term role has a Critical Care focus.

Education/Qualifications
Experience/Knowledge
* Substantial clinical experience as a neurological Physiotherapist (including exposure to neurosurgical caseload).
* Substantial clinical experience in treating complex neuro ventilated & non ventilated patients in an intensive care setting
* Substantial experience at Band 6 level or above.
* Participation in on-call rotas
* Experience in administering trust policies e.g. sickness, performance etc.
