A highly regarded secondary school in Southwark, rated GOOD by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Teacher of Computer Science to join their permanent teaching staff starting in January 2025. Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and potentially Key Stage 5.
* Contribute to the development of innovative teaching practices within the Computer Science Department.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to support academic achievement.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
* Support the school’s commitment to extracurricular Computer Science activities and enrichment programs.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in Computer Science.
* A passion for teaching and an in-depth knowledge of the Computer Science curriculum.
* Experience in teaching Computer Science at secondary level, with evidence of good to outstanding classroom practice.
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
* Excellent communication skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.
* A desire to contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities.
* A genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
Desirable:
* Experience teaching Computer Science at A-level (Key Stage 5) would be an advantage but is not essential.
* A proven track record of helping students achieve strong academic results.
* Enthusiasm for ongoing professional development and willingness to embrace new teaching methods.
