My mother has dementia and Dysphasia, she is not mobile and remains in bed most of the time, she has the use of a hoist and requires all personal care to be met by the care staff team. We are seeking 2 PA positions for 4 calls per day on a Saturday and Sunday to allow us as a family a break from our caring role. The PA's will provide morning, lunch, tea and evening calls to support with her routines. Getting up, bed changes, bed baths or showering, pad changes, skin integrity, ensuring she is positioned well and her skin is clear of pressure sores, administering medication and creams. Heating food and feeding, preparing for bed. The PA's will provide all personal care tasks, moving and handling, using a hoist on a 2-1 basis. About the Role Duties and Responsibilities: • Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed. • Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks. • Support and/or prompt the individual to take medication. • Assist with household chores and general homemaking. • Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship. Only candidates over the legal age should apply for this position as you will be required to administer medication. The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required. You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times. Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered). Training will be provided by the employer. When you are Required: Hours per week: 2.25hrs per week (SATURDAY AND SUNDAY ONLY) 4 calls. AM 45 mins, Noon 30 mins Tea Time 30 mins and Evening 30 mins • Saturday, 7:30am- 8:15m, 12pm-12:30 pm,5pm-5:30pm and 9pm-9:30pm • Sunday, 7:30am- 8:15m, 12pm-12:30 pm,5pm-5:30pm and 9pm-9:30pm Salary: £12.65 per hour 2.25 hours per week
