Applicants who do not meet the essential criteria will be considered under the Annex 21 training programme, where whilst undergoing training, they will be paid a % of the top of Band7 and on completion of training will then move on to Band 7 scale.
The Role
An opportunity has arisen within NHS Lanarkshire for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner based within University Hospital Wishaw.
The Advanced Practitioners will work autonomously across Primary, Community and Acute Services during the in and out of hours period, covering seven days including public holidays. They will be responsible for the clinical decision making for the population including assessment and treatment of patients in across the Primary, Community and Acute settings.
Advanced Practitioners will also work closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT)/medical staff including the OOH Hub and Acute Services. They will communicate on a daily basis about any patient they have seen overnight or at the weekend who needs to be followed up by the GP or Acute Services during normal working hours.
The Advanced Practitioner provides assessment, clinical care and management of both stable and acutely unwell patients and their families, making complex, autonomous decisions using advanced skills and knowledge, having overall responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the delivery of advanced care. Medical telehealth/telephone support will be available when required from an identified source.

What we'll need you to bring
1. Registered Nurse / AHP / Pharmacist with valid NMC/HCPC / GPHC Registration.
2. Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.
3. Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced clinical practice and expertise within specialty/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively and efficiently.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty.
5. Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the specialty/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within specialty.
6. Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in specialty and applying clinical judgement.
7. Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
8. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of specialty including study days/courses/postgraduate qualification.
9. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using their own initiative.
10. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills.
11. Working knowledge of basic information technology.

Fixed Term or Secondment for 1 year
Full time
Please note this is a fixed term post for 1 year. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

This role will be based in Accident & Emergency within University Hospital Wishaw.
