We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing person to join our team at Trowbridge Library working 15 hours per week to help provide a high-quality service for our customers. As Library Assistant, you will help customers with queries, help them to find books and information and support them with basic IT for those using library computers and other library equipment. You will take part in children’s activities such as 'rhyme time' and events/activities for adults, help with shelving, recommending reading choices, tidying the library, answering the phone and many more tasks are part of this role. Your working hours will be Mondays 4-7pm Tuesdays 1-4pm Wednesdays 1-4pm Thursdays 4-7pm Fridays 1-pm No two days will be the same and you’ll need to be ready to deal with the unexpected We will look to you to possess at least five GCSEs, including English at grade A-C or equivalent and good use of ICT. Previous library experience is not essential as we will train you in all aspects of library work. Excellent customer service skills or the ability to demonstrate you can provide them is essential, as is a love of books. Why us?
