In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of the Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration and Test (MAIT) of all our Uncrewed Air Vehicles and Systems. You will plan, prepare for and deliver production objectives and should make best use of the talented team members available, on occasion expecting to take a hands-on approach to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations within the Production environment. Responsibilities Support the development and the implementation of a strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives – working as a key element of the Operations Management Team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement. Ensure availability/currency of appropriate manufacturing work instructions to manufacturing and build technicians via a fully engaged Manufacturing Engineering team. Work with relevant internal departments to achieve or improve upon cost and schedule targets and achieved planned output. Align manning availability with schedule requirements and ensure communication to team members. Implementation of efficient processes and optimise resource allocation to maximise productivity. Create and implement best practice manufacturing engineering tools and techniques. Identification of risks and opportunities potentially impacting on the sphere of responsibility, and actively mitigate/exploit these to best effect. Identify capital expenditure requirements for new capital equipment. Provide technical/cost inputs to bids for new business and facilitate successful outcomes. Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with our ISO9001:2015 quality accreditation. Lead a diverse team of professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages innovation, teamwork, and employee development. Create and maintain a safe working environment consistent with all applicable company and legislative requirements (e.g. COSHH, HASAW, HSE) Other responsibilities as required About You Qualifications A degree (or equivalent) in engineering or manufacturing, or evidence of full completion of a recognised apprenticeship is required. Evidence of formal development training in advanced manufacturing, manufacturing leadership and/or industrial strategy is strongly desired. Skills and experience Proven experience of leadership and senior management within aerospace, automotive or other relevant industry, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams and a track record of successful performance. Excellent communication skills in F2F or On-Line platforms, able to interact and lead teams and customers both internally and externally. Knowledge of emerging manufacturing technologies and best practice. Excellent business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to analyse complex situations and identify opportunities to inform decision making. Enjoys working towards deadlines and under pressure Proven experience in driving and supporting organisational change and achieving results. Proven ability to effectively build and lead teams, inspire others to achieve goals through innovation, quality and commitment. Strong knowledge of high value manufacturing processes, industry regulations, and quality management systems. Computer literate. Have led continuous improvement/ change management activities to improve on time delivery Excellent written and verbal communication. Experience in overseeing H&S, Quality and Facilities functions within an organisation. Demonstrable experience as an “agent for change”.
