After an exciting year at ICS, we're delighted to announce a new role within our SEO team. We require a hands-on, driven, and enthusiastic SEO Lead to play a crucial role in the development and delivery of SEO services, spanning technical, off-page and on-page.
You will build on our strategic client reporting framework and oversee senior managers and specialists working within each sub-department effectively.
A strong commercial awareness and regular liaison with the Head of SEO and Market Growth team on service line commercials will be essential.
This role will be yours to shape. You will work with autonomy and be a key driver in our strategic SEO goals throughout 2025 and beyond - bringing your ideas, insights and commercial acumen to an expert, growing team.
The role:
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Salary: £45,000 - £49,500 (depending on experience)
SEO Project Management & Execution (50%)
* Maintaining an excellent overview of current SEO campaigns and working closely with colleagues to optimise client strategies.
* Fully independent delivery of hands-on recommendations and improvements to SEO campaigns, where required.
* Make key decisions around prioritisation, particularly with regards to outreach for off-page clients.
* Providing strategic, practical support to other service lines, notably Digital PR, in order to help clients achieve their organic goals.
* Creating periodic / end-of-project reports with key insights relating to clients’ KPIs and overall business goals.
* Leading client calls, attending face-to-face meetings and providing client-facing support to colleagues.
* Working to build and maintain long-lasting client relationships and ensure expectations are always met or exceeded.
SEO Service Development & Market Growth Support (25%)
* Understanding the needs of our clients and developing unique propositions based on these insights, with a strong understanding of commercial positioning and internal costs.
* Joining pitch calls as an expert voice on SEO.
* Identifying revenue gaps in terms of client projects vs revenue potential and client deadlines/expectations.
* Keep a keen eye on current processes and workflows, proactively suggesting ways to streamline operations to cut out as much inefficiency as possible.
* Identifying potential upselling, cross-selling and new service opportunities, proactively bringing these to the attention of the Market Growth team and ICS focus groups, validating their feasibility and ultimately implementing where required with the support of Heads of Department.
* Assisting the Marketing Director and Market Growth team to compile case studies based on account successes.
Team Learning & Development (25%)
* Continuously looking to further own knowledge through independent learning, attending industry-specific courses and events and highlighting relevant training opportunities with managers.
* Running weekly team meetings without requiring support from the Head of SEO.
* Maintaining a strong awareness of current skills within the wider team and providing training on strategic tasks across SEO and other channels to nurture and develop the team’s skillset.
* Responsible for mentoring junior colleagues to be able to independently complete strategy tasks such as keyword research, as required.

* Experience in a client-facing environment, with the ability to lead client calls/meetings
* Excellent commercial awareness
* Expertise in technical SEO, on-page SEO, content production and off-page SEO, with a passion for delivering strategies and results for clients
* Excellent working knowledge of major SEO, reporting and web analytics tools
* Lead by example - empowering junior members of the team, delivering workshops and supporting their development
* Outstanding prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage time effectively on your own accounts, as well as others
