For this role, you must be fully flexible Monday to Sunday. You will be allocated shifts on a rotational basis.
The Home
Blair House Care Home is a registered Nursing Home located on the outskirts of Newtownards, overlooked by Scrabo Tower. It is close to the town centre with different transport options available. Blair House Care Home has a total of 85 beds across 4 units including Residential Dementia, Nursing Dementia, Frail and Elderly Nursing, and a newly opened Mental Health Unit. The team in Blair House Care Home are well experienced in their fields and provide high quality care to all of our residents.
The Role
The role of a Registered Nurse in our Mental Health services is pivotal in providing specialised care and support to residents with mental health needs, promoting wellbeing and enhancing their quality of life. The Registered Nurse is a leadership role, playing a vital part in managing the care of our residents and providing high-quality, person-centred care. The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans tailored to the individual needs of our residents.
As the Registered Nurse, you will support the management of shifts, ensuring the safety of all residents and our team. The role is always evolving, and having a commitment to personal and professional development will ensure that you can make a positive difference in the lives of our residents and their families.
The Responsibilities
1. Adopt a systemic, individual approach to all resident care plans and communicate outcomes to the team both verbally and in writing, ensuring all risk assessment documentation is kept up to date.
2. Ensure effective communication of any concerns relating to resident care.
3. Deputise in the absence of the Unit Manager.
4. Support and supervise new staff.
5. Manage the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of individual patient care plans while promoting a professional working environment to ensure a high standard of resident care.
