Vacancy: Manufacturing Data Engineer Location: Clitheroe, UK Job Family: Manufacturing As the Manufacturing Data Engineer you will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and systems, converting data into suitable visual formats and dashboards, that support the manufacturing operations' production and quality control processes. You will work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Operations teams to understand their data requirements, improve their workflows, and provide them with useful insights. You will also work with the IT Data Engineering team to ensure consistency and integration of data standards, best practices, and solutions across the organization. The Data Engineer bridges the gap between raw data and data analysis by creating the infrastructure and tools needed to transform, clean and load data into systems ready for exploration. Working initially with the Clitheroe site, the Data Engineer will focus on transforming data from manufacturing systems into data that is Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR). Using our manufacturing data better within CT has been identified as a key strategic goal for increasing revenue in CT. There are many scientists and engineers in the business with strong data analysis and modelling skills, but they are often limited by a lack of data access. The role is predominantly based on Clitheroe site however limited travel to other UK sites may be required. And whilst predominantly desk based, some time on plant will be required. Requirements for the role: Design, build, and test data pipelines and systems to deliver Manufacturing datasets; initially for the Clitheroe manufacturing site but eventually supporting all five CT Manufacturing sites globally. Provide technical expertise in data mining and analysis. Implement data quality checks and monitoring. Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and dictionaries to help scientists and process engineers understand our manufacturing processes. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for data issues. Research and evaluate new data technologies and tools and ensure compliance with data governance and security policies Document and communicate data engineering standards and best practices. Assist with the design and delivery of the JM Data Platform for CT Manufacturing Collaboratively with stakeholders such as Process Engineers, Site Management, R&D Scientists, Data Scientists, and Business Analysts) to specify and design common data systems.
