You will join our innovative, child and family focused team of community occupational therapists and work alongside our wide ranging OT-CYP service and the MDT to deliver meaningful, timely care. The services has transformed care and enables access for parent and professional to unstreamed training and workshops. This aims to empower the child/young person and those closest to them to remove barriers to occupational performance and live their best life. You will provide assessment, diagnostic formulation and active support for children and young people and work closely with the MDT to provide timely, effective and expert care. You will also provide advice, consultation, and training to parents and local partners so confidence leadership, clinical practice, research skills and ability to educate others will be developed within this exciting role Main duties of the job The Occupational Therapy service benefits from a range of clinical specialist roles across acute, community and special schools. This role forms part of the leadership team which is creating and embedding new innovations to support efficient and effective service delivery. You will work with the team to ensure the workforce gains the right knowledge and experience to create a sustainable service for the future. You will carry a caseload of CYP with diverse diagnosis and layered barriers and strengths to occupational participation. You will support weekly clinics with junior staff, enabling their development and advance reasoning. You will manage cases where family resilience is lower impacting complaints and education dispute. You will run clinical forums/training to the OT and wider MDT; coproducing training for parents and schools from the OT-CYP team. You will support delivery of the advice line, requiring you to be able to respond to queries, signpost and advise. The role requires you to have excellent communication skills and demonstrable UHB values and behaviours. Your learning will be support by supervision (individual, peer and group); Value Based Appraisal; access to external training and access to CPD sessions across the children and women's services and the wider therapy services in Cardiff and Vale.
