Job Title: PMLD Teaching Assistant Location: Chesterfield (S40) Pay Rate: £100 per day GSL Education is seeking a caring and dedicated PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) Teaching Assistant to support students with severe and complex learning disabilities in a specialist educational setting in Chesterfield. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about providing personalized support to students with complex needs and helping them engage with their learning and development. Job Responsibilities: • Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students with PMLD, offering tailored assistance to meet their individual needs. • Support students with personal care tasks and encourage independence where possible. • Assist in the delivery of individualized education plans (IEPs) and support the implementation of activities that promote learning and development. • Foster a calm, supportive, and inclusive environment, ensuring students feel safe and valued. • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to monitor and support student progress. • Build positive and trusting relationships with students, encouraging communication and emotional well-being. Requirements: • Experience working with students with PMLD or in a similar care/teaching assistant role. • Knowledge of special educational needs, particularly PMLD and relevant support strategies. • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one. • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with students who may have complex physical and learning needs.
