YMCA Robin Hood Group is seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologist to join our not-for-profit children's trauma-informed, therapeutic residential care service. The successful candidate will work with children and young people to complete psychological assessments and trauma-informed interventions.
The role involves providing support for recovery through the Ashurst Mastery Model, which promotes assets, reduces barriers, prevents and mitigates the impact of trauma, and prevents harm and/or re-traumatisation. The successful candidate will also work with home staff teams and facilitate psychologically informed consultations, reflective practice sessions, and a skills-based intensive training programme with ongoing learner guidance.
The position requires a Doctorate or Stage 2 qualification in Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychology, HCPC registration as a Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologist, membership with the BPS, and post-qualification experience in a relevant setting. It is highly desirable to have undertaken training in risk psychological/risk assessments and inventories, as well as modes and models of intervention such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Accredited, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Mentalization-Based Treatment.
The successful candidate will work predominately within our Nottingham homes, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, generally 9am - 5.30pm, with a degree of flexibility to support the needs of the children. They will also join the on-call rota and provide cover for crisis calls. A driving license is essential to enable working across our entire geographical area.
This is a tremendous opportunity to be part of a team making a real difference to the lives of children. Our organisational culture is based on learning and development, and we would be happy to continue to support and further your continual professional development.
We reserve the right to withdraw this role before the closing date if we are able to appoint to the role. The post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check paid for by YMCA and registration with the DBS Update Service.
