Job Purpose : TeachMatch is delighted to be partnering with a Secondary school in Rotherham to recruit a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Religious Education (RE). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a supportive and dynamic school community, delivering inspiring RE lessons and fostering students' understanding of diverse religious beliefs, values, and ethical issues. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic and personal development and is for a minimum of two days per week. Key Responsibilities : Teaching and Learning : Deliver high-quality, engaging RE lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4 Ensure lessons are appropriately differentiated to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those with SEND Foster a stimulating classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, respectful dialogue, and reflection on religious and philosophical issues. Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning and development. Student Well-being and Support : Create a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to express their views. Identify students who require additional support and work with the relevant staff to ensure their needs are met. Promote positive values and support students' spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development. Assessment and Reporting : Monitor and assess student performance, providing regular feedback and setting clear goals for improvement. Keep accurate records of student progress and report regularly to parents and school leadership. Professional Development : Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice and stay informed about developments in the field of RE. Participate in school-based training and development initiatives. Collaboration : Work collaboratively with colleagues in the RE department and across the school to enhance the learning experience for all students. Person Specification : Qualifications : A degree in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy, or a related field. QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification. Experience : Knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment methods for RE. Experience in planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners. Skills and Attributes : A passion for Religious Education and the ability to inspire and engage students. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff. A strong commitment to student welfare, inclusion, and safeguarding.
