JOB DESCRIPTION – REGISTERED NURSE MANAGER

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To provide high quality care and support services to enable people to remain in their own home, living a fulfilled life, which respects their diversity, culture and values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Registered Nurse Manager will register with CQC as the Registered Nurse Manager Care 24-7. The role reports to the Senior Registered Manager and is responsible for the supervision and management of Nurse Managers located across the country, ensuring that the business runs successfully to budget and maintains the highest levels of quality and compliance. This includes managing day-to-day operations, allocating resources, and monitoring performance to deliver high quality services.
DUTIES & SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties of the role will include (but are not limited to) the following:
1. Meet all regulatory requirements
o Maintain a high-level overview of quality and standards within the business working collaboratively with the Quality and Compliance Team.
o Assist and provide support to the Nurse Managers to achieve high quality standards throughout the business.
o Ensure compliance with the National Care Standards (CQC) and act upon any requirements that may be applied by the Care Inspectorate.
o Ensure that all employees and agents of the Care 24-7 business adhere to national health and safety regulations, employment laws, and regulations.
2. Develop the business
o Work with the Company Director in growing the business in line with an agreed strategy.
o Take responsibility for the delivery of the agreed business objectives.
o Ensure that the business plan and its objectives are understood, delivered, and monitored by relevant line management.
3. Manage the safety and quality of the business
o Be responsible for the safe delivery of the service in line with legislative requirements and company policy and procedures.
o Undertake training and development to keep up to date with the law, best practice, and changes in company policy.
o Understand and monitor health and safety in the workplace and in the field.
o Maintain full and accurate records and reporting systems in accordance with legal requirements.
4. Provide a good service to people who use our services
o Promote the rights of each person and keep their wishes at the centre of their care and support.
o Ensure that prior to each service commencing, a support assessment and risk assessment has been drawn up with the person and/or their chosen representative.
o Provide information about the service to ensure clarity regarding expectations, costs, and how to raise a concern.
5. Lead and manage staff
o Identify and develop staff roles and responsibilities within the team structures.
o Educate and train Nurse Managers in relation to new clinical updates.
o Manage the effective recruitment, induction, and training of staff.
6. Promote the Business
o Develop relationships with key professionals in the local area presenting a positive Company image.
o Participate in the growth and development of the business.
Requirements
* Candidates must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
* Candidates must have 2+ years of experience post registration.
* Candidates are required to have excellent interpersonal skills in addition to the ability to work independently and manage your own time.
* The ideal candidate will have a background in the care sector, with relevant qualifications and experience in aspects of nursing.
* A diploma in Health & Social Care Level 5 (or equivalent).
* Previous experience working as a Registered Manager, or a similar role within a care providing organisation.
* Proficiency in the English language, together with excellent communication skills.
* A strong understanding of legislation concerns with care provision.
