Analytical Development Scientist – Biopharma Technical Development

Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic process and analytical development team responsible for advancing new biopharmaceutical and vaccine products. The Biopharma Technical Development team fosters a collaborative and inclusive culture, driving innovation in the field. This role is primarily lab-based, focusing on the development and optimization of analytical methods to support microbial and cell culture projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical expertise and leadership in analytical method development for process development projects in laboratories and pilot plant facilities or across the global network.
* Develop and optimize analytical techniques, including HPLC, ELISA, UV spectroscopy, and CE-SDS.
* Plan, execute, and assess laboratory studies through hands-on experimentation, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
* Communicate project progress regularly to senior technical staff and global stakeholders, delivering high-quality, peer-reviewed technical reports.
* Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards for all process development activities and manage cost control.
* Drive continuous improvement through innovation and shared technical expertise across the global network.
* Establish and maintain collaborations with external organizations for analytical development and technology transfers as needed.
1. Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree or higher degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a related discipline.
* A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in analytical method development or relevant expertise, such as a PhD.
Essential Skills:
* Strong knowledge of protein chemistry.
* Expertise in developing and optimizing analytical methods, specifically HPLC, UV, ELISA, and CE-SDS.
* Ability to work under Good Research Practices (GRP) and produce high-quality technical documentation.
* Understanding of Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs), process-related impurities, and stability requirements.
* Experience in method validation and fit-for-purpose studies.
* Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams and locations.
* Scientific curiosity and a problem-solving mindset, with the ability to support early- to late-phase product development.
* Adaptability and learning agility, with a proven ability to take on new challenges in response to business needs.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization.
* Experience in structural analytical data interpretation, such as mass spectrometry or cell-based assays.
